We’re just days away from the launch event where Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung’s Unpack event taking place on February 1st, along with some other releases, the Galaxy S23 series will also be released and pre-orders are already live. The company also teased some details like camera and performance improvements. We’ve been getting leaks from the Galaxy S23 series for the past few months. Now that we are getting closer to its official release, let’s take a look at Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra specs and feature we’re likely to see.
Galaxy S23 lineup will pioneer Gorilla Glass Victus 2
Samsung was the first company to introduce Gorilla Glass Victus to the Galaxy S22 series. Now the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will be the first to feature the new Gorilla Glass Victus 2. GG Victus 2 claims to survive drops on tough surfaces including concrete from up to 2m onto the pavement. This improved drop resistance does not come at the cost of scratch resistance.
Corning claims that the new Victus 2 contains an average of 22% pre-consumer recycled content which makes it environmentally friendly.
Later, it was confirmed by the executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Samsung MX that the new flagship smartphones will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Specs and Price Leaks
Samsung announced the 200MP Isocell HP2 sensor a few months back, and later in specs leaks, it was revealed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have this new 200MP Isocell HP2 camera sensor. It combines the same ultra-wide, 3x, and 10x telephoto sensors as the S22 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will come with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 combined with 8-12GB LPDDR5X RAM, also it will offer up to 1TB memory options. Moreover, the thermals of the phone are also improved, which means the device won’t heat up easily.
The display of the S23 Ultra is the same as the previous generation, 6.8′ inches 2X Dynamic AMOLED, 120Hz display with a resolution of 1440p and 500 ppi. As we stated earlier the main protection glass is Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which will cover the front and back of the phone. The new phone runs Android 13 and One UI 5.1 on top, to juice it up, there’s a 5000 mAh battery with 45W wired and 10W wireless charging support. The new phone includes Wi-Fi 6e, NFC, Ultra Wideband (UWB), and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity support.
The starting price of Galaxy S23 Ultra (256GB) is $1199.
Samsung Galaxy S23 & S23+ Specs and Price Leaks
The Galaxy S23 will come with a 6.1-inch 1080 x 2340 panel display and the Galaxy S23+ with a 6.6-inch 1080 x 2340 display, both supporting HDR10+ and a 120Hz refresh rate. The S23 measures 5.76 x 2.78 x 0.30 inches (HWD), which is about the same as the S22. Meanwhile, the S23 Plus measures 6.21 x 2.99 x 0.30 inches which are a bit changed from last year’s S22 Plus.
You can expect improved performance and power compared to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as the devices will be powered by Snapdragon 8Gen 2. Both phones will be equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP telephoto. In addition, you’ll experience better camera results as there’s an improved image signal processor and AI engine than the previous generation. The price of the Samsung Galaxy S23 (128GB) is $799 and S23 Plus (256GB) is $999.
